What should you bring for the first time you live in the dorm?

Last year is the first time I live in the dorm. So there are lots of things I didn't know I need before entering the dorm. Ok, so what do you need to bring:

1. Slippers (waterproof)

The bathroom and toilet is a walking distance from the rooms. You need a slipper to go to the toilet.

2. Shampoo basket 

You can put all the wash up things you need in a basket. Bring them in one go.

3. Waterproof bag 

To bring all your clothes to the bathroom when shower.

4. Bed sheet, pillow, bolster & blanket 

All this are not provided in the dorm. If your skin is very sensitive, remember to put the bed under the sun before you lie on it. The bed is used by lots of people before. Blanket is very important, your roommate maybe someone that feels hot and on the fan to the biggest power. So use blanket if that happens, need to create peace.

5. Medication

Bring vitamin C, ointment (minyak angin) and anything you think you will need. Medicine is important, although the university clinic is available but sometimes you need the medicine when it is close or maybe the clinic don't have the medicine. I don't think the university clinic have Vitamin C and minyak angin.

6. Prepare lots of coins and RM1

Why? Laundry machine only accepts RM1, drinking water machine only accept coins. Most of the time, the auntie in the cafeteria don't have small change to give you. 

7. Mosquito net for the window. 

Lots of mosquito in the dorm. Don't close your window because of that. Your brain need oxygen, futher more without oxygen you will feel lethargy.

8. Water bottle

9. Laundry basket, hanger, laundry clippers, detergent, dishwash & dustbin

Not so important compare to others, can buy after you move in the dorm but without it, it will be very difficult.

Other things: all the electronic you need (phone, phone charger, laptop.....), water heater (if the water machine spoil, you can still cook some water to drink) 

10. Drinking cup

I bought drinking cup, cause the cafeteria only use one time plastic cup and plastic straw. You can see the plastic cups and straw flooding the dustbin everyday. We need to be environmentally conscious, did try to talk to the cafeteria management but now with the issue of covid it is a bit hard to care about the usage plastic cups and straw. I saw some of the people bring their own usable cups and containers to cafeteria. I think that all we can do for now.
